Enough cycling for now

July 29, 2025We need a rest after completing the Rallarvegen and Mjølkevegen. Booked three nights in a small but perfectly formed traditional Norwegian cabin.

Bimbled a bit faster today…

July 29, 2025Had to go a little faster today.
Me wearing a raincoat and riding my bike on gravel track. Mountains to rear…

What the hell, Norway?!

July 28, 2025Had to put on some waterproofs for a few minutes today. For, like, the third time in six weeks.

Today started as it ended yesterday, with pushing down any steep hills for Beck due to a broken brake caliper!

July 28, 2025Many thanks to the lovely Intersport bike mechanic for sorting us out this morning. We were soon back on our way after a treat at the cafe.

Bumpy Road #3

July 26, 2025The third submission for world’s bumpiest road. The Mjølkevegen gravel track has a fair bit of what Arev and Mathias would call washboard road.

Pit stop #1

July 25, 2025First bike shop stop of our tour after I broke my brake lever blade. Proper bike shop too. New lever fitted in 15 mins (thanks Torbjørn!) and we are off again.
Broken brake lever in hand next to test of lever

Pfffft!

July 24, 2025First mechanical. Caused by me treading on my front brake lever [very bloody lightly] when the bike was upside down. Pfffft!

Recap - Weeks four and five

July 24, 2025Hooray! We’ve been on the road for over a month. Sometimes it feels longer and sometimes it feels like we’ve only just left. We smell like we’ve been on the road a month, I can assure you… Since our last recap, Norway has continued to delight. There have been more staggering views, more experiences...
