After getting off the ferry in Santander we had a wonderful—and eventful—ride over to St Jean De Luz, where my brother and his family live, to spend some time with them all before we head off again. We always take a short while to get back into touring and we had done so nicely, only to stop again. This is going to be the last time we see everyone for a little while though, so we are making the most of it.
We also had some family business to sort while we were together. My gran wanted her ashes scattered with those of my grandad and dad, so we made the trip up together to do it. Everyone (who is anyone) was present…including my brother, sister-in-law, mother, four nephews and Beck. It was a nice outing, we ate food together and reminisced, and then my eldest nephew Roy kindly scattered his great grandma’s ashes.

Aside from this we have played games (mainly Monopoly and pool) and done a school run or three together. Fun times.

I’ve also been spending some time making some musical instruments, getting my head around Logic Pro for iPad and maintaining the bikes. Beck has been doing lots of reading. She loves our e-reader.
She has also been planning our next pedal strokes. We think we plan to head to the east coast of Spain and make our way down there. Partly to stay a little lower (due to snowy mountains) and partly because this is an area of Spain neither of us have explored before. Then we hope to see a few cities in southern Spain that I went to in my teens (when Interrailing) and pop to Seville to check out its transformation into a cycling city.
Then on to Morocco! We’ve been reading a good bit about Morocco and look forward to spending time there. We should head off in the next week…
