We’re pretty new to cycle touring. In fact, we’ve done a few two to three week tours before and we have obsessed (Beck the route and me the kit) over this adventure for a long while, but still, we have plenty to learn and are already doing so. Maybe—gradually—we have also learnt a thing or two that can help others hoping to do the same. Or maybe you’re just curious how we do some things on the road? Hence this blogpost…

Please post any queries you may have in the comments below.

And while you are here, we have these queries arising from our experience thus far:

1. Does anyone know of a quick drying / travel towel that actually dries water off skin well?

2. We have reverted to gas after struggling with burning kerosene reliably on our Primus multi-fuel stove. Any tips and suggestions welcome?

3. We are considering the merits and otherwise of an Ortlieb four pannier set up, as we are considering reducing what we carry and we are wondering what other options there are for smaller rear panniers (maybe) and front bags that offer a little more ground clearance?

4. We’ve got into the swing of washing dishes in the wild in Norway but we’d welcome any thoughts on washing dishes with more limited water, please?

More to follow, no doubt :)

Once again, please reply in the comments below. Takk!
