We have decided to start logging our bike maintenance here. Humble apologies…but it’ll be useful for us and maybe one of you will flag something crucial that we miss :)
2400km since last full service (Birmingham, October 2025)
Clean & visual inspection ✅
Spotted and tightened loose Rohloff pin on The HOG
Fully cleaned incl. drivetrain & brake discs
Bolt / torque check ❌
S&S coupling check ✅
Spoke tension check ✅
Ping test & tensioned a few on The COO
Tyre and sealant check ✅
Visual tyre check (some wear to rear)
Sealant topped up (with Orange Seal Endurance)
Brake check ✅
All but The HOG’s front pads changed
Pistons and callipers cleaned
Rotors cleaned
Check for play (BB / hubs etc) ✅
Move EBB and seat post ❌
Other tweaks ✅
Retaped and tightened The COO’s stand
Moved bell on The HOG
Tweaked and tightened The COO’s mudguard stay
Rohloff oils bought for 5k change in Africa
Notes for next time
Check rotor thicknesses (except The HOG’s rear rotor, which was changed 1500km ago)
Check for possible gouging on The COO’s front pads
Check tyre wear and consider swapping from <> rear (especially The HOG)
