Maintenance log - 07/10/2026

9700km since last full service (Birmingham, October 2025)

Big service this, carried out by an actual bike shop, while we swanned off to Munich.

Not our usual service format but still wanted to log what was done.

New tyres and sealant all round ✅

• New rim tape and valves too

New bottom bracket bearings ✅

• A preemptive upgrade to some swanky ceramic ones with a stack of waterproof grease 🤞🏼

Brake bleed and new pads all round ✅

Rohloff hub oil change ✅

Headset clean and grease ✅

Other tweaks ✅

• Testing another saddle. Carrying the previous one for now. I’ve never loved any saddle but the last one was decent. Unfortunately, it has shortish rails so I couldn’t move it backwards quite as much as I wanted.
• Replaced broken pannier clip with new 2.2 version. Like! Might change them all :)

Notes

Consider loosening our drive belts a little. IMHO they have set them at super-efficient-single-speed tightness rather than fully-loaded-maximise-longevity tightness
