Further to this, we are staying put in Dakhla for an extra day. We planned to explore more yesterday but will do so today, as the visible dust (if not the particulate pollution) has receded a bit.

We then plan to head off tomorrow, taking it easy as necessary. I’m pretty susceptible to such stuff, for some reason (I always needed The Best Mask when woodworking) and we have Beck’s Long Covid to watch out for too. We’ll see how we get on.
Moreover, we can’t stop thinking of Tom who we met on our way into Dakhla. We’ve not met any touring cyclists for a long while, so it was great seeing him and chatting but he was already battling a killer headwind and then the dust came. We hope he got on ok. He seemed hardy but nonetheless, I’m sure he’d probably have preferred better conditions. More power to you, Tom!
